The album opens with a somewhat decent skit in which Jervel talks about over-hearing news in the youth worship service that Tyler got a Tesla. Jervel reacts to this by saying “That boy still got a pickup truck in his garage, I seen it” thereby reinforcing the stereotype that you need to have a pickup truck in order to be considered “Country”.
I recommend checking out this album JUST for the opening skit. The idea of it has been stuck in my head for a couple days, as I find the idea of a country boy owning a Tesla absurd. Furthermore, the fact that his country boy friends would be concerned over such a trivial subject is also quite hilarious. While the idea is good, I feel like the execution was actually significantly lacking. I have been enamored by the idea, not the finished product.
Anyways, the rest of the album is downright awful. I don’t know if things actually get worse as the album goes on, but it certainly feels like it. An absolute drag and a terrible way to spend your time.
1/10 – Atrocious
