Quality of music aside, you have to admit that there is a degree of ambition to be found here. If the 11-minute opener “Tangerine” doesn’t signify that, I don’t know what does. Whether the album succeeds in its ambitions is another thing. A lot of the time, it does. Bursting with juicy sweetness, melodies flying around like a rainbow-coloured Pegasus. But sometimes, it declines into pure boredom, becoming an endurance test until the next great idea comes exploding in. It’s fine, but it could’ve been so much more.
6/10 – Decent
